Built as an upscale model, the 1955 Bel Air came with tons of chrome, full wheel covers, plush interiors, and a Ferrari looking front grille. The ’55 Bel Air received high accolades from magazines like Motor Trend and Popular Mechanics for its exciting styling and superior handling. Making the new Bel Air an instant hit with consumers, selling an astonishing 1,775,992 units in 1955 alone.
